Footnote: Allegedly the first pattern of the Third Reich political eagle was designedby Adolf Hitler himself and was introduced on November 4th 1927. The eagle was originally worn on the cap by SA and SS personnel and wasn't adopted for wear by NSDAP leaders until 1931.
