Germany, Heer. A Krim Shield, by Wilhelm Deumer consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac gilt wear on the numerals(Krimschild). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, the reverse retaining all four attachment prongs, with a zink backplate, field grey wool liner (indicating Heer issue), and partially intact paper liner, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Wilhelm
